It's Official!
Rob got EOD! We'll be moving to Valp FL. in December for 1 year!!! Congratulations are in order for my hard working hubby Rob!
Thanks to everyone for your prayers.

Behind?
Rob and I were talking the other night about how we want to be able to get a little out of a pay check after we get paid, but how frustrating it is to never have anything left after everything is paid for.
Then a thought came to my head, you can't get ahead until you catch up. So don't be discouraged that you aren't coming up with extra in life, just work on getting caught up first!

What's going on?!
A lot of people have wanted updates on how our future looks, so here's what I know...
We are currently living at FT Lee VA. for 3 months, and are supposed to leave in December some time.
Rob has gone through many tests in order to get an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) position and only has one APFT left. We have no idea when it will be, but it should be soon.
If he passes the APFT he will get EOD which means we will move to Huntsville AL. for approximately 10 weeks (maybe more), then we will move to the FWB FL. area to work on Eglin AFB for the minimal of 36 weeks.
If he does not get EOD we will go to Fairbanks AK as planned. Please pray for him, he really wants EOD and it would mean a lot to him to have y'alls prayers.
I'll keep you updated!
God Bless!

It's all His
Is there a higher Power? Is there a God Who can restore all that has been taken away?
Taken away?! What was yours to begin with? What did you have at the beginning of life that wasn't given to you? What right do you have to think you are worthy of anything good that you have in your possession?
By taken away, I mean everything we are sore to have lost. Maybe a family member has passed away or left, maybe something you owned was stolen, maybe your fiance bailed on you, maybe you have had a miscarriage, etc...
What right do I have to be discouraged and ask why me? I have no right. God GIVETH and He TAKETH AWAY. I mourn to have lost my baby. But I am also at peace because I KNOW that there IS A HIGHER POWER and He can restore all that has been taken away from me! I know that my baby is in God's hands and that is way more then my husband and I could have provided. Everything that happens to me and my family is in God's plan and I trust His plan for my life fully. He is in control and I praise Him for that! I praise God for what he gives AND what He takes away, I will praise His name in all these things!
I like to think of everything I have as being barrowed from God, on loan. He has the power and right to take anything I have at anytime because it is already His.
Holy is The Lord God Almighty!!!

ALASKA
It took my a while, but it just sank in that we will be leaving for AK very soon, about two months soon. We'll probably be there in time for Christmas and I will be freezing my butt off for the following 3 to 5 years. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to get there and am super excited about it. It's just the little glitch of -65* in the winter and no sunshine.
At least I'll have really cool things to post on the blog right?
♫I'm preparing for a white Christmas
Where all the sunshine is no more
Where the tree tops glisten and children are trapped in there house during snow storms for days or weeks at a time (thank goodness for homeschooling)♫
And we'll be a happy freezing family♫
I got a little carried away. teehee

I Love Miss Gene
Miss Gene is an elderly woman who is a member of the Church Rob and I attend. She loves to talk about everything and anything she can until she has to go. The wonderful thing about her talking is that it is never boring and I just want to listen to her all the time. Her and her husband, who is also Gene, invited us and some friends of ours over for lunch yesterday after Church. We had a lot of fun looking at brightly colored fish in a beautiful stone rimmed pond in the backyard, walking around looking at their large amount of beautiful trees just turning for the fall, and fellowshiping with the saints.
When we sat down for lunch miss Gene told us how she met her husband and it is such a good story, I have to tell.
She and her sister back in the 50's went to see a Dean Martin movie and were walking out of the theater wondering when the unpredictable train was going to make it's stop for them, and decided to go across the street and get a milkshake while they waited.
As they entered the shop, Gene saw three handsome soldiers. She noticed one had a girl, but that was okay because he wasn't as good looking as the one facing her. He was looking right at her, and she thought to herself, "I'm going to marry that man, no matter what, he's mine."
As the girls were ordering their shakes, Gene heard a voice from behind her, asking if he could pay for those. She promptly said no, without even turning to look at him. He then asked if he could take her home, and she said yes of course!
So as not to leave the 3rd lonely soldier out, Gene's sister kept him company on the drive home. When they got there, Gene and her mother made sandwiches for the guys and had loads of fun talking and visiting. Gene realized it was 2:00am and that they should get on their way. The man told her that was a good idea because he had to leave for training at FT Drum the next morning. They wrote often, but one letter was not so friendly. He wrote that he was thinking about going back to a girl in Pennsylvania, she replyed and didn't even bother to write dear Gene. All it said was, NO YOU WON'T!
She then hopped in a taxi and went all the way to FT Drum, so he could tell her face to face. Of course he didn't, she was just too persistent. So she got her way, (as her husband claims she always does) and married that soldier.
They are a beautiful couple now and have been blessed with 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 2 or 3 great grandchildren. He is an elder in the Church and she is just a boat load of fun.
So that is how Gene met Gene :)
I'm so happy to know them.
